Objective of the meeting: Get everyone in-sync with the concepts
- Have to inform the Chairperson & Vice chairperson representing their diplomas and present to them, showing them how the logo may look like.
- Have to decide on one and complete it by Friday afternoon
1. Abnormality
(More positive instead of 'Deformity' previously)
- Special
- Another side of you is born, not exactly refering to a birth of a baby
- Hospital type of feel
i. Including hospital elements
ii. Clinical feel, clean and white
Colours such as grey, beige, metalic colours, blue
iii. Provide a strong experience and warm feeling
- Use push carts
- An idea for the logo is to manipulate the Index finger into a pencil
- As mentioned, it is similar to the movie 'Artificial Intelligence', Hyper surrealism
- This idea can focused towards the Photography side, but will involve a lot of digital imaging
- An idea suggested by Ee Hwan is for each person to bring along something strage
(E.g. A box of sand or a cat with you)
- Another idea of creating your own badge (E.g if you want to be an Art director, AD+)
- Since the right side stands for creative thinking, left side for logic, we can represent ourselves as having 2 right brains.
- It has a subtle feeling but not exactly strong.

Discussion of Concepts
- "Marriage into Society" An idea suggested by Shihui
- "Specially catered for you" / "Ideal person to consider" can fall under the idea of the previous 4th idea "Market place" with the same meaning - The idea of shopping for the right designer
- New idea "Enlightenment" - Dressed up as greeks, godness. Meaning after our 3 years in school, we are reborned as a new birth
i. Cannot be too regilious, Can mean a sense of liberation after our 3 years of school
ii. Start of our journey / and provide a rather humble feel than something too godly
- An award show, Miss _____. However, it is rather similar to the previous batch
- Have to think of the brand DNA first before coming with the concepts
- Rugged - for BIRTH 2011
- Another idea, "An alternative grad show" - to show that we have matured
Taglines/Ideas/Brand Attributes
- Most schools are heading towards the sophiscated feel. (Ashlyn)
- Minimalism, Quirky can be the main attributes (Gareth)
- "The Anticipated/Awaited Gradshow" (Shahidah)
- "BIRTH 11 We've arrived" (Shahidah)
- " Birth defect" (Gareth)
- "Every designer's birthday" (Shihui)
- "Chance" (Lijuan) - Taking a chance/opportunity
- "Twins" (Senior suggested, mentioned by Gareth) because of the number 20"11" - Double happiness/joy
i. Everyone is similar but different.
ii. Everyone's working under the same category but our styles are different in our own way.
TWINS
- Double / Double happiness- 2 people of different styles walk on the same runway
- Can tie in together with the celebratory idea
- May be a little confusing when joining the Underground/underrated idea together.
- 1+1, to do 2 different styles/work at 1 time, which means having a designer showing 2 different sides of himself/herself
- The concept of having "The most number of Twins"?
- 1+1, can also tie together with the logo
Concept: Give birth to the designer-side in you

BIRTH Defect
- Superhero powers is the defect
- The theme: Heros
i. Choose our defects and it will eventually "nature or nurture" us in becoming designers.
ii. Showing the essence of the idea "Superhero"

Meeting Minutes #2
General Meeting No. 2, 20th October - 11:40am to 12:45pm
People present: Mr Azhar, Cerlyn, Delia, Shahidah,
All the heads, and members from classes 01, 02, 03.
Mr Azhar showed the first grad show done in the Year 2007 , for Creative Media design/DID as well as the deck for BIRTH, the concept for Year 2008 (First BIRTH concept) and Year 2009 can be seen as an improvement of the previous year.
Cerlyn talked about the 4 Finalised concepts.
Mr Azhar mentions that Cerlyn, Delia and Shahidah can be contacted if annyone wants to provide any suggestions or comments regarding the concepts.
Discussion of the 4 Concepts
Objective of this meeting: Gather everyone's comments so as to finalise 2 concepts to present to the school.
Ashlyn, Makiyo and Lengfei explained the concepts.
Objective of the concepts: To show that we are different and creative as Designers.
The 2nd idea, Underground/Underrated:
- Shina suggested if we can get a place like Marina and make use of the materials to create the ambient.
- Shihui asked about the look and feel of the grad show. Will it be a party like atmosphere? Hippy-like or Indie feel?
- Gareth mentioned whether is the idea related to the BIRTH? and if the name can be changed?
- Charmaine asked about the marketing techniques.
One of the ideas given by Ashlyn is to have a bus so that people can hop on and travel to the place.
- Some of the locations given by Makiyo:
1st idea: Commercialized places / malls
2nd idea: Rooftop? / ION rooftop? Mainly accessible places but yet people rarely visit.
- Suggested idea by Amanina is to relate the 1st idea, Party and Celebrations to the BIRTH of new designers, some sort of an Oscar-themed event.

- Hell, 18 stages of torture
- showing horrible and torturous process of being a great designer, creating great works
