Objective: To reconfirm all the details regarding the Photoshoot and the respective roles for each course.
Details of the Photoshoot discussed.
Respective Roles for each course:
DGDD: Working on the execution of the website
DLA: Goodie bag design
DID: Layout plan of the gradshow
DXPD: Poster for the gradshow (Will be working closely with DCMD's Creative team)
DARCH: In charge of the boards for the gradshow
The attire for the Photoshoot: Any coloured top, Dark bottoms; NO white clothing; Smart casual.
The finalised schedule for the Photoshoot will be posted on the blog.

From the lecturers' last meeting:
- dates of gradshow confirmed - 1,2,3 April 2011
- teasers have to be out by Jan
- website to be up by end of Jan [DGDD] (will need 5 sample works from DCMD to put on the website as teaser for works)
- Venue
- no Marina Square
- DCMD probably to manage the space/setting
- no A0 boards, maybe a square board or box-like area?
- equal spaces to be shared by the courses (event area)
- transactions to be handled by school
- printer - meeting needed, with paper samples from printer
- branding - template has been given to the courses, expecting replies in 2 weeks
- sponsers - have a meeting with Dept. Director? to discuss sponsors; refer to DD if we found willing sponsor/s (contact Mr Azhar 1st)
- Marketing - note that ideas have to be able to link to other courses, whatever we do
- goodie bag - a foil, zip-lock like bag? to put gradbook inside (gradbook + bag = goodie bag?)

Photoshoot in-depth
- supporting team to be in studio at 8am (to set up studio, make-up area, plan for refreshment n meals, etc)
- make-up artist and photographer to be in 8-8.30am
- each group to be in make-up area 1 hr before their allotted time slot
- 12-1pm, 5-6pm break for lunch and dinner
- shoot days (mon, wed, sat)
- 4-5 people per group/hr

Creative Updates
Photoshoot
We had a test shoot on Wed and here is the draft (WIP) images after editing. how's it? :)

Here are some layouts done by our wonderful Interactive team :)
*We will show how the different layout runs for each individual samples that has been shown. Right now, sample 1 and 2 displays the main page whereas sample 3 shows the student's work. Our next update will encompasses the whole structure of the site for each sample (about birth, teaser, courses, etc.) Thank you. :)

Direct Mailer
1. Life sized cut out with you + a cut out
The message "All we need is you"
The idea is attention grabbing and it will be sent to the CDs.
2. A Brief direct mailer
Literally a brief, which also means a Creative Brief to be sent to the CDs.
It will be designed with colourful patterns and packaged specially.
Maybe a zocard teaching them how to make/fold their own brief?
A competition on the best brief?

3. A hint of 'provocative' visuals for a couple of seconds.
then a strapline will appear saying 'Birth 2011, coming soon'
Why? To protray a bold and daring approach and at the very least just to catch their attention, to let them know that Birth is coming.
Idea - 'Birth' is something that requires passion and love to create. We wanted to create a new designer self. Without that passion we wouldn't be able to feel so strongly about the products that we create.
4. "Worth the rush"
A tvc showing people rushing out of their house to go to the gradshow, being untidy and forgetful and rushing out, to show that Birth is worth the rush.
5. "You can't stop at one"
Showing viral videos but with the ad strapline to appear at the end of the video.
6. "Creative Brief" (In a ward)

-The Creative Briefs
idea of Creative Brief is a tool/object that makes our designer self appear, like a pencil's importance to an illustrator. The illustrator can only fulfill his potential as an illustrator with the pencil. Creative Briefs is the starting point, the opportunity to showcase our creativity. So our "Creative Brief" isn't a paper of words, but rather a "Cheeky Brief"

Comments given by Mr David:
The TVC depends on how we film and how the story continues. For the "Worth the rush" idea, it can be exaggerated by showing everyone rushing out just to see one lady clap. It will be more exciting if there is a twist to the story and since it's about humour, there is a need to exaggerate the story.

Ideas
1. I want to be (image of normal vs desired self)
2. normal vs aggressive - portrait, stoic/expressionless + expression with face or body)
3. me + me getting away from my normal self (Sadako like? pulling out, walking out from?)
4. coloured lighting?
5. face in body - alot of DI working, concerns with manpower; refer to right-hand corner bottom image on Creative's storyboard (Dec 7 post)
- choosing of photos to be used- to be decided by Creative team (for all courses)
- dark clothing, not all white, smart casual? VS up to personal choice, since its going to be portrait? (TBC again)
- make-up artist not needed? natural look. or thick makeup needed?
- hairstylist more important?
- will need to have test shots to determine which photo style will be chosen
TBD: need to do TEST SHOOT before anything is solidly confirmed. Test shoot (Wed), Thurs meeting to present to committee

- direct mailer can be very cool and specially packaged.

- the look and feel has to follow with the moodblard but the idea can be different. (For eg. the chopsticks can be done out but maybe the colours can follow something like the overlapping colours?)
