For the art direction, my creative team and I felt that it should be something that it's not too complicated. We don't want to take the attention away from our works. Ultimately, what we want to show to the CDs are our works, right?
So for this, we thought of making use of double exposure in the shoot as it works with the concept, 1+1 as well. Basically the final product will be a layering of 2 photographs on each other, and one of each will be of one color. I attached the moodboard as above. I also tried to replicate a copy (the girl in polka dots dress), I realized that it's not a very easy process because we need to make sure the background is white, and the color blending could only be on top of the model. This simply means quite a lot of DI is needed. (Think 6 Diplomas) Also, only very contrasting colors would work.
Another approach is we don't color the photographs but just overlay the original ones. We could have the person dressed up differently or have props for one of the images.
